Chalet Castor

With 5 bedrooms, sleeping up to 11 guests, Chalet Castor is a lovely property that makes the perfect base for a family or friends looking to explore the wonderful resort of Meribel. The exterior of the chalet is built of stone and timber, with a typically Savoyard interior of wood-panelled walls and exposed wooden beams.

The chalet is set over three floors, with an entrance to the chalet on the ground floor, where upon entering there is a ski room with heated boot rooms, perfect for ensuring you’ve got toasty warm boots before hitting the slopes each day.

Two of the five comfortable bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The first is a large family suite, made of two single beds (90 x 190cm) and bunk beds (90 x 190cm) with an en-suite shower room and WC. The second bedroom contains just one single bed (90 x 190cm) and also has its own en-suite shower room and WC.

There are three more bedrooms on the second floor, one of which has two single beds (90 x 190cm) and the other two bedrooms both have a large double bed (140 x 190cm).

The living room, dining room and kitchen are all located on the first floor.

The living is comfortable, warm and cosy thanks to the inviting open fireplace and comfortable sofas and chairs. There is a flat-screen television in the living room, perfect if you’re feeling tired and fancy a relaxing evening watching a good film in front of the fire.

The dining room and living room are open-plan, which creates a lovely communal space in which to enjoy this chalet. Outside of the dining room is a good-sized balcony from which you can enjoy the magnificent views of the Meribel Valley.

The kitchen is separate and fully equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster and cafetière, so you’ll have everything you need to whip up a feast for all the family.

If you need to stay connected for work or to stream your favourite TV shows, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the chalet apartment. If you are travelling by car, there is space to park one car in front of the chalet.

Chalet Castor is in a great position from which to explore this wonderful ski area, with the bus stop just a 3-minute walk from the chalet which will whisk you in no time at all down to the lift base at the Chaudanne.

The centre of Meribel is just an 8-10 minute walk from the chalet or a quick hop on the ski bus. A little closer to the chalet, at just 3 minutes' walk away are the popular après spots, ‘Brewers Den’ craft beer bar and ‘O’Sullivans’ bar and club.

The French ski resort of Méribel is in the French Alps at an altitude of 1,450m, with 150km of marked runs. Méribel is part of the Three Valleys ski area with access to 600km of downhill skiing, with 497 marked pistes, served by a total of 180 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Méribel itself (150km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Three Valleys ski resorts of Courchevel, La Tania, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville and Val Thorens. Méribel comprises the villages of Méribel Centre, Méribel Les Allues, Méribel Les Hauts, Méribel Mottaret and Méribel Village.
