Nice Hotel on the Edge of Town - Hotel is located about 15 mins walk from the lifts by the ski school meeting place and a little closer to the gondola. A shuttle is available and they have an "arrangement" with Rent and Go for ski/books storage which is well worthwhile pretty much wherever you are staying. The hotel has a bit of character and charm but was very quiet when we stayed. A very good breakfast buffet with a cooked option available on demand. Not sure whether they do evening meals but there are plenty of places in town. There is plenty of free parking outside the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and very warm if probably a little dated and our room had a tiny shower cubicle. Everything was spotlessly clean. Getting here is a relatively easy 75min drive from Turin, mostly on motorway with only…
Two stays, winter 2018 and 2019, we have a great time: breakfast with a lot of choice, room with all comforts, shuttle service, Jacuzzi, small spa, one of the most beautiful and characteristic external structures of all Sestriere. But above all the staff: welcoming, friendly, cheerful, always available. It is true, however, that the internal structure needs renovation and renewal in some details.
Good hotel Stayed at the Belvedere with friends while on a Neilson ski holiday. Hotel is nicely presented and the majority of the staff very friendly. Rooms very of a very good size, nicely done in slightly traditional way, but all warm, clean, more than perfect for a ski holiday. Food: we were on a half board basis. breakfast was a good selection of continental breakfast type goodies. Plenty to set you up for the day. Evening meal, was good on the proviso that you’re not vegetarian. For half board basis the food quality that wasn’t veggie was good. There was some really well cooked fish most nights, sometimes really quite a show piece! Choices for dinner where made the morning before. Back to the veggie food. It was not for the lack of trying or caring, as both the chef and the maitre d’ were concerned and tried to help when the veggie food wasn’t quite up to scratch. Soups were in the main good, pasta dishes again fine, a lot of which were veggie, but there wasn’t really any substitute bar salad or cheese for the meat / fish course. Shame for some of us to eat so well while others at the table didn’t. The staff were great, the Maitre D’, the chef and the trainee bar man were all really great characters and made our evenings there. The ski bus to and from the resort centre was good most of the time, and most of the time ran to time. Often would stop if he saw you walking along the road back to the hotel and pick you up. Just occasionally the driver seemed to really get hacked off and unfortunately this coincided with us trying to get one of our party who was wounded back to the hotel. May be miscommunication? Spa facilities. The sauna and the whirl pool were great. Used a fair bit but never seemed too busy. In summary. Nice hotel on the edge of town but not too far to walk there and back unless injured or carrying skis. With proximity to Turin would make a good base for a self booked ski weekend. Would I return, yeah I think so if I was coming back to Sestriere, though would I ski the Milky Way again? Worth doing once at least!
Outside the center of Sestriere but with a breathtaking view, a characteristic structure. Well furnished rooms.
Nice hotel This little hotel on the edge of town is very good. Small but nice well appointed rooms , lovely restaurant serving quality local dishes , extremely helpful staff especially the maitre de Davide Simonette. Nothing is to much trouble and he has a calm effiency that gets the job done. If your on a ski trip the hotel runs a minibus shuttle service which is more like a private taxi. It's virtually on demand within the hours it operates. So don't let the location put you off. I'd definitely stay here again.
Lovely Staff This hotel provided a great base for our recent family skiing holiday. The rooms are large and comfortable. Always had plenty of hot water at various times of the day. A shuttle bus was provided each morning to take skiers to the bottom of the slopes, this saved a walk of approximately 1km. A good array of food was available at the breakfast buffet including cereals, fruit, bread, pastries, cold meats, cheese, cooked breakfast, cakes and full range of drinks. Evening meal was always a buffet starter two courses served at the table and a buffet dessert. Over the seven days not one meal was repeated, a vegetarian option was provided each night for each course. All the pasta dishes were great, and Valentine’s Day saw a 7 course extravaganza. However, all this was raised higher still by the attentive friendly staff. The restaurant team were brilliant and looked after all our needs including setting breakfast up early on the morning we left, much appreciated. Our favourite member of staff though was Amy on the bar. She greeted us with a smile every evening and became our first point of call every evening for our post walk back drink, and then a pre dinner drink.
